MEET ALYSSIA RODRIGUEZ

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Alyssia (she/her) is a licensed clinical social worker who uses a collaborative and integrative approach to therapy. She combines motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and expressive techniques such as grounding and mindfulness to support clients in their healing journey. Throughout the therapeutic process, Alyssia works to identify how past and present wounds may be preventing individuals from feeling safe, heard, and whole. She believes in creating a space where clients can authentically share their story, ensuring they feel respected and empowered in how they present to the world.

Alyssia is deeply passionate about helping clients build self-awareness and insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while drawing from their inner strength to foster lasting change. Using techniques from EMDR and other somatic techniques, she recognizes the importance of using the body to regulate emotions and promote healing. She is dedicated to providing culturally competent, LGBTQIA-affirming care, ensuring all clients feel understood and supported.

Alyssia has specialized training in working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, sex work, PTSD, anxiety, LGBTQIA-related issues, women's issues, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Additionally, she works with couples using the Gottman Method to help partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and create a deeper, more lasting connection.

Alyssia holds a Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Social Work, and a Gender Violence Certification from Virginia Commonwealth University. In her personal life, Alyssia enjoys spending quality time with her wife and two children.
