DR. BETHANY TAREEN
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Bethany Tareen is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has served diverse children, adolescents, and families in the DMV area for over 10 years. She specializes in working with those ages 6-21 affected by autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, ADHD, and executive dysfunction. She has expertise in providing evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, behavioral parent training, and mindfulness. Dr. Tareen believes in an integrative and collaborative approach to treatment, and she strives to create individualized treatment plans that emphasize clients’ strengths to build new skills and improve thought processes.
Dr. Tareen completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland. During graduate school, Dr. Tareen trained at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) in Baltimore, MD and Children’s National Medical Center. She completed her doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her postdoctoral fellowship at MWPH. She then served as a faculty member in the Autism Spectrum Center at MWPH before relocating to northern Virginia.
Dr. Tareen lives in northern Virginia with her husband, daughter, and cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, and cooking and trying new foods.
