MEET ERIN MAGNUSSON

Erin provide compassionate mental health services virtually and in Ashburn including IFS.

Resident in Social Work

I’m Erin and I have worked in the health and wellness field for close to a decade.  I am passionate about helping others gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and to discover their own potential and resilience amid life’s challenges.

I have experience working collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals and am always honored to guide others on their path to growth and change. During my graduate work, I had the privilege of working primarily with military women and their families, broaching issues such as anxiety, life transitions, grief, and trauma. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a yoga instructor, where I became fascinated by the mind body connection. I believe that therapy can be a powerful pathway for the integration of the mind and body, allowing for personal understanding, self-compassion, and empowerment.

As a therapist, I offer expertise and support in helping you find healing and growth. I strive to create an inclusive, warm environment for each client, drawing from various modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Brigham Young University and my Master’s in Social Work from Salisbury University. Additionally, I am a licensed Vinyasa and Yoga Nidra instructor and enjoy teaching at my local studio. In my free time, I love to read novels, practice and instruct yoga, travel, and spend time with my family.
