First, we want to start off by saying that we are here for you. There is so much uncertainty right now. Countless unanswered questions that just keep popping up. We know many people are angry, confused, and hurting. Trying to navigate all of these changes can feel absolutely overwhelming. Do you feel like your life is this scattered jigsaw puzzle right now? You are not alone.
With our government currently experiencing significant changes, it is understandable that individuals are feeling stressed, and as we know, stress can have a ripple effect and impact family members and loved ones. We recognize that right now our federal employees are being asked to navigate difficult transitions and make tough decisions.
As events have been unfolding, we have been reflecting on how we can help our community. We asked ourselves the following: How can the support we provide have the greatest impact possible for our federal employees and their family members? Here’s what our ideas boiled down to. People are craving connection. Individuals want and need a place where they can feel understood and supported. With this in mind, we devised a plan to create a processing group at Think Happy Live Healthy.
Navigating Workforce Changes Together
A processing group is a support group that is led by a trained facilitator which allows members to talk about their experiences in a supportive and confidential environment. In our upcoming group, participants will have the opportunity to process their thoughts and feelings related to recent job changes, work on building resilience and confidence to assist with navigating transitions, learn about coping strategies for managing workplace stress and uncertainty, and of course, connect with others who are facing similar experiences and challenges. To start off, this group will be open to Think Happy Live Healthy clients, as well as their referrals, and sessions will occur virtually and be facilitated by a licensed professional counselor, who has expertise in working with individuals impacted by grief, trauma, and life transitions. As a small gesture of our appreciation, this group is being offered for free for all participants. If you are interested in joining, connect with us at info@thinkhappylivehealthy.com or reach out to your provider.
Psychoeducational Group for Kids
In a joint effort to help support the family unit as a whole, Think Happy Live Healthy is also looking to provide a support group for children of federal employees. This will be a psychoeducational group focusing on teaching coping strategies to help children navigate these uncertain times. Similar to our adult processing group, this kids psychoeducational group will also be free for all participants. Please stay tuned for more details, and if you are a federal employee who is interested in having your child participate, please reach out to your provider or contact us at info@thinkhappylivehealthy.com. Let us help you and your children start putting the puzzle pieces back together and feel confident in your next steps.
